How to choose a perfume as a gift

Perfume is one of the most personal gifts you can give. When it hits the mark, it becomes part of someone’s everyday life; when it misses, it stays in a drawer. A few simple questions help a lot.

Notice what they already wear

Look at the bottles on their shelf, or simply remember how they smell. Do they like fresh and light scents, sweet and warm ones, or florals? The safest gift stays within a scent family they already love.

Think about the occasion

• Birthday or anniversary: something special and a little luxurious.
• Christmas: warm, cosy scents work well in winter.
• A thank-you or small gift: a smaller size is more fitting than a full bottle.
