Perfumes for autumn: which notes to choose

Published

Autumn changes how perfume behaves. In cool air, fresh citrus scents disappear quickly, while warmer, richer notes finally have room to unfold.

Notes that shine in autumn

  • Gourmand notes – cocoa, vanilla, caramel, coffee.
  • Woods and patchouli – earthy, grounding, elegant.
  • Spices – cinnamon, cardamom, pink pepper.
  • Dark fruits and lychee – juicy, but with depth.
  • Amber and resins – warm and enveloping.

Why warm scents last longer now

Heavier base notes evaporate more slowly. In cooler weather they stay close to the skin and unfold gradually through the day, which is why an Eau de Parfum often lasts longer in autumn than in summer.

How to wear them

Start with fewer sprays than you think – warm notes are stronger. A spray on a scarf or coat collar holds the scent for a long time, but test the fabric first.

Our autumn tip

Attrape-Rêves pairs a juicy lychee opening with peony, patchouli and dark cocoa – a fruity-floral scent with a warm gourmand base that feels made for autumn evenings.
